Jaimie Thomas’ 2nd XI fairly strolled to victory at Carmarthen Wanderers’ Trinity Fields ground this afternoon (1st)!
Batting first, the home side were bowled out for 128 in the 42nd over, having been handily placed on 53-1 after 15 overs. With one batsman (or batter these days?!) having retired hurt, the nine wickets were shared between Rhys Davies (1-26), Mike Jarrett (1-17), Conor Stone (3-23), Jamie Sheldon (2-38) and Adam Frangakis-Williams (2).
In reply, MCC raced to their 6 wicket win with 21 overs to spare! Jaimie (17, 2 fours), Harri Turner (22), the in-form Conor Stone (47no, 4 fours & 2 sixes), Gareth Baglow (17, 1 four & a max) and Ben Jones (10no, 2 fours) saw to that!

Meanwhile, our ‘A’ XI were unfortunately defeated by 5 wickets in their SWCA league match at Maesteg.
Batting first, John Courtney’s Lads totalled 168-9. The top order of Paul Kenealy (19), JC (29), Will Turner (29) and Jon Brearley (66) had laid a solid foundation..’A’ XI 135-4 at one stage.
After tea, our hosts knocked the runs off in the 36th over, out of the allotted 40. Luke Edwards (1-29), Will (1-33) and Eurig Morgan (3-6) shared the 5 wickets to fall.
Next Saturday (7th), the 1st XI travel to Neath, the 2nd XI welcome Pontarddulais to Marespool and our ‘A’ XI entertain Baglan at Murton. On Sunday, the 1st XI take on Clydach in the SWCA T20 KO Cup Q/F at Marespool.
