No doubt someone more knowledgeable will correct me but today (13th) saw the third consecutive Saturday of league cricket where each of our three Senior XIs won its game! Id est, 9 wins in 3 Saturdays! A record for MCC?
Anyway, to cut a very sweaty story short this afternoon –
- Our 1st XI defeated Penarth by 20 runs at HQ. MCC 282-9 v Penarth 262-4, each in 50 overs
- Our 2nd XI defeated Port Talbot by 7 wickets at The New Manse. PT 190 ao v MCC 192-3, each in 33 overs
- Our ‘A’ XI defeated Maeseg Celtic by 41 runs at Murton. MCC 327-2 v MC 286-9, each in 40 overs
Unfortunately (?!), there shall be no report this week..too many runs scored & not enough time to do the guys justice, after these Herculean efforts in searing heat across the board!

Next Saturday (20th), the 1st XI travel to Pentyrch, the 2nd XI welcome Gorseinon to Marespool whilst the ‘A’ XI cross town to play Morriston at their Tir Canol ground.
