Jamie Gwilliam’s U13 Squad were defeated by a quality Penarth team in their Welsh Cup Semi-Final at Newtown CC this afternoon (2nd)!
Penarth were put into bat and set our young cricketers a target of 128 to overhaul after the interval. Unfortunately, it was not to be today as MCC fell 33 runs short, after being bowled out for 95 in their 20 overs.
So much credit must go to these lads for getting this far especially as, bar the 1st Round win over Gowerton, all four subsequent rounds were played away from home.
Finally, hats off to Coach Jamie and his team of coaches – a very proud run for our Club by a squad who set a fine example in all respects!
PS – In the Final which followed, Penarth went on to play Lisvane, who won by 7 wickets.
