It is with real sadness that we have learned of Life Member John Beer’s passing this morning, after various ill health in recent years.
JB Senior was a member of MCC for so many years, going back to the late fifties! And, until the last season or two, he remained a regular supporter at Senior games at Marespool, with the occasional opinion to share!
When regular midweek & Sunday cricket was the norm across South and West Wales, John was inevitably involved. He captained the 1st XI for as many years as any captain, if not the most, in more than one stint. As such, he served the Club on the Committee and was created a Life Member as long ago as 1988!
A true loyal servant, John Beer was MCC through and through. As such, he will be greatly missed.
The Club extends heartfelt sympathy to his wife Rosemary, or “Ro” as John so affectionately called her.
