THE BIG DAY IS NIGH!
Next Monday (3rd) sees the start of construction work at Marespool as the diggers roll in to kick off the extension to our Clubhouse!
Following months of working closely behind the scenes with architects, quantity surveyors, construction engineers, local authority building control officers etc etc, work will now be commencing!
Thanks to various fund raising initiatives by club members and the generosity of many donors and various benefactors, the project will be carried out under the renowned expertise of local builder Rob Evans and his firm, Treemendous Construction. Everything else being equal, we are hoping to see completion of the work within 22 weeks.
However, the fundraising has to carry on throughout the project if we are to achieve a high quality finished article, from which everyone, both within the Club and within the wider local community, can benefit.
In addition, some of the money raised so far is repayable. Therefore, if you wish to make a financial contribution to this latest stage of MCC’s Development Plan, please please get in touch with Project Chairman Gareth Jones on 07812189967.
To those who have already “dug deep” (no pun intended!), we say “MANY THANKS”! To those who have not yet done so and who might feel inclined to contribute towards the costs of this long overdue & much needed enhancement to the Clubhouse, please do what you can to help out. This project is simply vital to the long term sustainability of our great Club.
For the first time in the proud history of our Club, we shall have a facility that will be available for use all year round. Boys & girls, the young & not so young, cricketers & non-cricketers, societies & charities alike all stand to reap the benefit!
Thanks to everyone of you!
