Congratulations and best wishes from all of us here to 16 year old Aneurin Donald who has been selected for this winter’s e 2013/2014 ECB Development Squad.
In order to further his cricketing development, Nye joined the Club last winter and played an invaluable part in the clinching of the Premier League Title this year. Before joining up with the England Under 17 squad in July prior to their series v Sri Lanka when he was also captain, Nye scored 377 runs (including two 50s & a ton) at 34.27 for our 1st XI. He also took 11 catches & 7 stumpings whilst keeping wicket in his 11 games.
This England Development Programme squad, featuring young cricketers primarily in the Under 17 age group, will be involved in training and development camps at the National Cricket Performance Centre in Loughborough over the winter, leading into a competitive training camp in Sri Lanka during the Easter holiday featuring fixtures against Sri Lanka Under 17.
EDP Chairman of Selectors David Graveney OBE said: “This winter will offer great development opportunities for these young players at a world class facility at the NCPC in Loughborough, with access to a variety of leading coaches, plus later a training camp in Sri Lanka testing their skills under extremely tough conditions.”
