To complete a magnificent year for our Club both in terms of team achievements and recognition of individuals, Aneurin “Noddy” Norman has just about capped the lot!
On Thursday (5th), for his feats for the Wales Minor Counties 3 Day Championship XI, the Minor Counties Cricket Association announced that Noddy was to receive The Wilfred Rhodes Trophy as the MCCA Player of The Year for 2013!
Apart from his sterling efforts for the Club, Noddy took 19 wickets for 141 runs in his 5 games for WMC – furthermore, he conceded only 1.5 runs from each of his 94 overs! In his 8 innings, Noddy also notched 2 fifties during his 184 runs – his batting average was 23. Finally, his tally of 8 catches was second only to the 10 pouched by MCC colleague, Rhodri Evans.
Aneurin’s award will be presented to him at a luncheon at Lord’s this week.
So, really well done to Noddy…a truly magnificent achievement and thoroughly deserved accolade!
