The hosting of Glamorgan’s three day 2nd XI game against Hampshire this week was an unqualified success for our Club!
And that’s not some throwaway self-congratulatory comment made by anyone from within the camp – both sets of players, opposing coaches & ex-England players Steve Watkin & Craig White and the two match umpires including ECB First Class List umpire Paul Pollard (ex Notts & Worcs player) were as one in their positive comments in terms of the quality of our pitch & ground, our facilities, our hard work before & during the game and finally the welcome extended by the Club towards the teams and officials.
The dodgy weather during the match meant that a lot of additional work on the ground was necessary and ultimately resulted in the fixture unfortunately not going the distance – for the full scorecard of the drawn game, please go to Glamorgan’s website, and follow the links via “Fixtures”.
For now, many thanks to all those who turned out to help during the three days, namely John Blyth (Head Groundsman), John Courtney, Allan Baglow, Roy Probert, Nick Blyth, Simon Lloyd, Stuart Seaton, Luke Brown, Ryan Aingworth, Chris Nelson, Laura Charles-Price, Steve Davies, Gareth Jones and Dave Norman.
